I'm really glad I don't have a missing leg or a dead parent or nervous tick or care about love or anything. I never really knew why a lot of people smoked cigarettes until a few years ago when I connected the dots. Of course not everyone, but to many people nicotine is a release. It relieves stress or something. I can't count the number of times I've been present for drama going down, and then a person will walk off and smoke. I don't have anything against smoking, because how are they harming others? Besides parents and stuff, how does a a single guy/girl harm anyone else besides themselves? If they are polite enough to not smoke around their peers who dislike it, then I don't see any reason why they can't smoke. There are even people that really do need cigarettes to survive. Like David Sedaris... I lost my train of thought.

Anywho, the reason I've been thinking about this is because I really like cigars, but hate cigarettes. I have a pack in my room, and every two months or so I try to smoke one, just to remind myself how much I hate them. The whole breathing-in-smoke thing just grosses me out. I felt like my body was instantly rotting or something. I even stripped down to my boxers first, because I hate smelling ashy.

I don't know, I just think it's really funny that I have to prove to myself that I hate something.

I guess you could argue that it hurts others because you are physically "hurting yourself". When you wind up with lung cancer one day, it will not only cause your loved ones grief, but probably financial expenses. I think really, that is the only reason why people get in such an uproar about it. Weed is pretty harmless, and that is exactly the reason why you don't see as many people protesting against it [except when trying to legalize it].

But, that is pretty interesting. Maybe it's because you kind of want to like it, so you always tend to go back to it.. even if you know what the outcome will be. Who knows.
